Righteousness,Courage and Karma Count most..Prowess Does a Bit

What follows is a logical discussion over the above assertion which has at least caused me to think seriously over few points.

Most of the old sayings common to our ears are concidered as morally correct but dealt with obviously enough to render them useless.
"Fortune favors the brave" and "God helps those who help themselves" might have been put by two different ones but both mean to say the same.
Probably this is the reason why at times when we are on with a lot of zeal and courage face several instances which suggest the someone is helping us through and things are setting right by chance...!!
Why most of us finally forfeit after we are tired and think ourselves as failures.
Why most of the times our last attempt after we are completely exhausted works and we think that yes, this was that we needed.

Why had the Kauravas had to face doom even after having potentially several times mightier army than Pandavas.

All these questions direct to either of the three concerns of mine here.
There is someone who is vigilantly accounting for what we do and pays accordingly.
We are advised to believe in ourselves; to believe that we can do what we ought to do.Belief is required. But actually what does belief do?

Belief takes us to a level of action which is actually required to accomplish the task. When one believes that one will win then one does what one thinks is required. This is about being honest with one's work. This is Karma.
Barriers in our way to our destination do have milestones on the other side. The biggest barrier, if it seems to be thus, has the final destination past it.That is why the last, the most tedious and exacting effort of all brings success.
Its all like supplying the threshold amount of energy to a substance.
